Welcome to LOGOS Publications!

LOGOS PUBLICATIONS, INC., the official publishing arm of the Society of the Divine Word in the Philippines, was established in 1987 to foster the apostolate of the printed word in the theological, catechetical and pastoral fields in order to promote justice, peace and human development as revealed by the Divine Word made flesh. In the beginning, LOGOS provided the SVD Seminary better alternatives to mimeographed class notes which served as textbooks or reference books. Soon it offered seminarians and the public a wide range of topics that dealt with biblical, catechetical, communications and other pastoral fields.

LOGOS also became successful in publishing inspirational materials which became best sellers. Among these were books written by SVD priests such as Fr. Frank Mihalic’s 1,000 Stories volumes one and two, The Next 500 Stories, The Storyteller’s Minute, and A Thought for Today; Fr. Jerry Orbos’s Moments, Light Moments, Simple Moments, Shared Moments, Just a Moment and Meaningful Moments; and Fr. Bel San Luis’s Stories of Life and Laughter, More Stories of Life and Laughter and Some More Stories of Life and Laughter.

LOGOS continued to develop products that met the demands and needs of its market. Whenever possible, it acquired rights to print books produced by international publishers such as Orbis, Liguori and Twenty-third to add to its pool of valuable literature.

LOGOS also produced audio compact discs with songs of secular and religious themes. It came out with a series of albums which provided the Catholic market with recordings of Holy Mass selections that were chronologically arranged from entrance to recessional. The albums included minus ones and songbooks with notes and chords useful to music ministries.
LOGOS continues to innovate, making use of the latest technologies that may put God’s Word in the language best understood by this generation. Through this website, LOGOS hopes to fulfill its mission by making its products accessible to the world.
